Thanks to everyone that has played and supported Bardbarian so far! It has been amazing to see what the Treefortress guys have come up with, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the result.
An update has been posted on the Steam Community about what players can expect from Bardbarian once it arrives. Check it out, and be sure to leave your thoughts.
If you haven’t checked out Bardbarian on iOS, yet – you can download it in the app store. Keep an eye here, or on the Treefortress blog for more Bard-related announcements in the coming months.
Hi Grant, I’ve been following your blog since hearing you speak at Adobe MAX many years ago. Congrats on the success of Bardbarian! I read some posts on the game when you first started and thought that is was cool that you guys were using ActionScript. I’m a big ActionScript fan and have been bummed to see it losing popularity over the last few years. I was just curious to know if the code base for both the iOS app along with the build that you are making for Steam are ActionScript? If so can you share any info on submitting AIR apps to Steam? Again congrats, you guys are making some cool stuff! Thanks for sharing it with us.
You should definitely jump over to the Treefortess site (http://treefortress.com/launch-day-bardbarian-now-available-on-ios/), and ask them the same questions. They are really happy to engage with the community and answer questions – the steam forums are a great example of that: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/discussions/194516287
The app is all ActionScript, cross-compiled to iOS and Android using Adobe AIR, and has the same codebase – but with some platform differences, and exclusive content in some places.
Hi Grant,
Got here through the link you post about Apple Service & volume shortcut keys. Thank you!
Saw the Bardbarian game above and thought you may enjoy this.

(I’m in no way affiliated with the band. Just amused!)
Perhaps they could contribute to the soundtrack?
